What the Heraklion market looks like
Two different demands coexist: holiday stays in the summer months, and short one or two-night bookings from business travellers and people passing through the airport.
That means more bookings but also more turnarounds. Organising cleaning and key handover is more demanding here than for a villa let by the week.
Apartments and maisonettes often perform better than owners expect, precisely because they capture the non-touristic demand as well.
We do not publish average returns by area. In Heraklion especially, two properties on the same street can look very different depending on whether they target holiday or business demand.

How do key handovers work with so many arrivals?
Either in person at agreed times, or through a key locker with a code sent an hour before arrival. In Heraklion, where arrivals are frequent and often late at night because of flights, the key locker usually works better.
